I can’t seem to get enough of Paris.  It’s not exactly a quick trip from California but always well worth it.  The allure of photographing the ever changing and always wonderful city has proven irresistible, and a selection of fine art prints of my Paris photography is available online at FoundView Gallery. Here on Paris Illustré, the images are digital paintings created from my photographs.

I remember when this photo technique was done using polaroid prints, manipulated before the ink colors dried. Beautiful photos!

    • Thank you! Playing with polaroids sounds fun–I’m certainly enjoying the digital technique.

      • I have a book at home that I bought in abt 1997 in Florida by a lady who did this. It comes out looking like an oil painting. I also bought one little tiny painting that I treasure and keep in my dining room. I will have to look up the name of the book, as I’m at work right now. I notice there are Youtube videos demonstrating the technique.

      • Thanks, I’d definitely be interested in the book title if you get a chance.

The book is “Painterly Photography, Awakening the Artist Within” by Elizabeth Murray. Published1993 by Pomegranate Artbooks, in Petaluma, California

The two little prints I have are by an artist named Charlotte Arnold. I bought these in Seaside, Florida back in the 1990’s at an Artist’s gallery.

One more comment, I have not looked at this book in years, it just sat on my bookshelf, but Elizabeth Murray lived in France and also wrote “Monet’s Passion”. She worked as a gardener in Monet’s Garden at Giverny for about a year in 1985. She’s a well-known photographer.

  3. Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Blog of the Year Award. I truly appreciate your work and enjoy reading your posts. You can learn more about your award here: http://ifyougiveablondeakitchen.wordpress.com/2013/12/13/blog-of-the-year-2013/

  4. Wow gorgeous pieces! I was wondering whether you would extend your project to other cities such as Vienna, Rome, Florence etc. It would be stunning!
I also love Paris, great project, looking forward to seeing more!

    • Thank you–your encouragement is very much appreciated. Given unlimited resources, I would absolutely broaden my focus to other cities. A dream life! But I do have a few scattered images from other locales I’ll occasionally use.

  5. Do you sell these digital paintings? I didn’t see them in your shop? Thanks.
